Untuk menemukan dan Mendapatkan Pekerjaan idaman dengan cepat, Anda perlu tampak menonjol di antara banyak orang. Beginilah caranya :

1. KENALI DIRI SENDIRI
Susunlah rencana karier yang diarahkan sendiri. Perusahaan menginginkan orang yang menunjukkan keinginan untuk berkembang maju dalam pertumbuhan pribadi maupun profesi. Dengan menyiapkan rencana karier yang diarahkan sendiri, akan mudah menyatakan cara Anda mencapai karier Anda saat ini dan kemana tujuan Anda dengan pekerjaan berikutnya. Jika hal ini dilakukan dengan benar, Anda akan mendapati diri Anda adalah komoditas yang langka dan berharga. Jika mengabaikannya, Anda akan mendapat Curriculum Vitae Anda akan dibuang ke keranjang sampah oleh si perekrut tenaga kerja bahkan untuk wawancara saja akan menjadi sulit bagi Anda.

2. PASARKAN DIRI ANDA SENDIRI
Memberi merk pada diri sendiri sangatlah penting. Selain CV dan surat pengantar, alat bantu baru agar sukses berburu pekerjaan adalah laman web pribadi, blog, porto folio online, dan social networking lainnya yang cerdas. Saat ini jika Anda tidak dapat ditemukan pada hasil Googling/di Google, maka artinya Anda tidak ada. Jika dilakukan secara profesional, internet juga membantu menunjukkan hal-hal yang tidak berwujud seperti animo kerja dan hasrat kehidupan, kemampuan menulis, daya cipta dan kreasi, serta keterampilan bergaul.

3. HARUS BERHATI-HATI SAAT ONLINE
Sayang, sebagaimana sudah diketahui oleh pengguna Facebook, MySpace dan Twitter yang masih mudaserta pengguna jejaring social lainnya, cara kita menggunakan fitur internet tersebut dapat menjadi bumerang. Sudah banyak kasus tentang perusahaan yang menepis calon karyawan berkualifikasi dan tidak dipertimbangkan untuk dipekerjakan hanyalah karena melihat materi yang tidak senonoh di halaman web pribadi atau situs jejaring sosial calon karyawan tersebut.

4. JALIN JEJARING TATAP MUKA
Ceritakan pada semua orang bahwa Anda sedang mencari pekerjaan. Bergabunglah dengan serikat dagang/business networking dan hadiri secara berkala setiap pertemuan kelompok profesi di kota Anda. Ingatlah, terdapat ribuan pekerjaan baru yang tercipta yang tidak pernah ditayangkan secara terbuka. Berbagai posisi ini sering kali terisi melalui saluran jejaring informal.

5. CARI INFORMASI SECARA ONLINE
Papan Lowongan kerja dan situs pekerjaan menawarkan puluhan peluang. Juga jangan lupa memeriksa situs-situs perusahaan tertentu untuk mengetahui lowongan kerja. Sering-seringlah memutakhirkan CV di papan pengumuman ini. CV yang baru dan mutakhir dipasang di bagian atas tumpukan untuk dipertimbangkan oleh perekrut tenaga kerja. Untuk alasan yang sama, sering-seringlah memeriksa situs untuk mengetahui adanya lowongan kerja.

6. KENALI KATA YANG MENARIK PERHATIAN
Perekrut tenaga kerja sering menggunakan kata kunci pencarian CV untuk menemukan calon karyawan yang memiliki keterampilan umum yang mereka cari. Pastikan Anda memasukkan kata-kata keterampilan dan istilah industri yang tepat dalam CV Anda dan ketika mengisi formulir aplikasi online. Simaklah posting pekerjaan yang ada saat ini untuk memperoleh gagasan mengenai kata kunci yang dicari perusahaan.

7. HUBUNGKAN DIRI
Anda sudah punya voice mail, email, instant messaging/IM atau account di jejaring social? Khususnya yang menjadi favorit para perekrut tenaga kerja yang ingin bisa menjangkau calon ketika mereka sedang online. Buatlah IM account dan account jejaring social lainnya.

8. SIAPKAN SEJAK AWAL
Kebanyakan para perekrut tenaga kerja menyaring daftar pendek calon dengan wawancara telepon singkat. Dengan memiliki rencana karier yang sudah dipikirkan matang-matang, siapkan diri anda, jika disediakan waktu pemberitahuan yang sangat singkat, untuk menjelaskan strategi jalur karier Anda dan bahwa pekerjaan yang sedang dibicarakan itu sangat tepat mengingat keterampilan yang sudah Anda miliki, prestasi dan visi untuk masa depan.

9. LATIHLAH KESUKSESAN
Sebagian besar pencari kerja dapat berbicara tentang keterampilan mereka, namun sebagian besar lainnya tidak siap menghadapi contoh nyata tentang bagaimanan keterampilan mereka dapat membantu perusahaan untuk maju. Tindakan apa yang membuahkan hasil apa? Ingat, para perekrut tenaga kerja sudah memangkas daftar calon sehingga hanya mencakup calon yang memiliki keterampilan yang disyaratkan saja. Agar bisa menonjol, gunakan kisah tentang prestasi masa lalu untuk menunjukkan penggunaan keterampilan Anda.

10. TINDAK LANJUTI
Setiap kali setelah berinteraksi dengan suatu perusahaan, kirimkan email yang disusun dengan rapi yang mengungkapkan penghargaan dan semangat Anda tentang peluang kerja tersebut. Jika Ada tidak mendapat kabar dari perusahaan itu setelah beberapa hari berlalu, hubungi perekrut tenaga kerja atau manajer yang bertugas merekrut tenaga kerja untuk mengetahui langkah berikutnya.

Archie comics to introduce first gay character

Now it won’t be only about Archie, Veronica and Betty. The world’s oldest teenager comic book is to introduce its first openly gay character Kevin Keller, announced the publisher Friday.

“The introduction of Kevin is just about keeping the world of Archie Comics current and inclusive. Archie’s hometown of Riverdale has always been a safe world for everyone. It just makes sense to have an openly gay character in Archie comic books,” said Jon Goldwater of Archie Comics on its official blogsite http://www.archiecomics.com/blog/news/



The “Veronica #202” edition will introduce Kevin as the new hunk in town and Veronica just has to have him in the full-issue story “Isn’t it Bromantic?”

In the new story, when Kevin defeats Jughead in a burger eating contest at Pop’s Chocklit Shoppe, the rich and spoilt Veronica latches onto him. Mayhem and hilarity ensue as Kevin desperately attempts to let Veronica down easy and her flirtations become increasingly persistent.

The blogsite states that the introduction of Kevin’s character is part of the commitment to keep Archie properties reflective of the current world of teens and teen media.

The edition will hit comic shops Sep 1 and news stands Sep 14.

NFL DRAFT Round 2: Oakland Raiders Would You Mind Drafting...?

The Oakland Raiders get it right in round one. Tom Cable mentioned that he wanted a rookie that would instantly become an impact and he received just that by taking Rolando McClain.

Its not a secret that the Raiders have some glaring holes on the Offensive line, but with Russell Okung and Trent Williams off the board, McClain not only was the best player available at number eight, but fit a defensive need.

Many people will talk about how the Denver Broncos took Tim Tebow number 25 overall, but the two stories in the draft is Kansas City taking S Eric Berry, and Jacksonville reaching for Tyson Alualu.

In my opinion that left a lot of unexpected good talent on the board causing some teams to trade down, and others to keep reaching.

Now in Day two rounds two and three there are many players the Raiders could end up with that could help there teams instantly.

QB Jimmy Clausen

This is what I think may change the entire outlook of not just the draft, but also the future of the Oakland Raiders. It says that the days of Jamarcus Russell are over and we are investing in a franchise QB, paying him back-up money.

Mel Kiper Jr had the Raiders taking Clausen eight overall, but with him slipping to the second round makes him look a whole lot more attractive.

With Tim Tebow going to Denver being picked ahead of Clausen, that makes the Raiders vs Bronco games a little more of intense for the next generation. Besides, you would think Clausen would have a chip on his shoulder being the third maybe even fourth quarter back taken.

A chip on his shoulder being an attribute that Al Davis likes in his QB's...see Ken Stabler, Jim Plunkett, and Rich Gannon.

OT Bruce Campbell

Another player that the Raiders were rumored of taking eight overall is Bruce Campbell. This guy no doubt is an athletic freak, who looks like a Pro-Bowl left tackle right now.

Campbell's problem is lack of playing time. Due to a lack of playing time he has a lack of technique.

Durring the Combine, fans concern was that Al Davis would take Campbell in the top ten. But like Clausen, Campbell's potential looks a lot better with a second round investment as opposed to a first.

I still think this would be a reach in the second round, and we could still get him in the third, but im not sure that Al Davis feels the same way.

OT Charels Brown

If the Raiders do want to address the offensive line in round two, this is the guy to pick. I think everyone had him in the first round penciled in to Dallas until they traded up to get WR Dez Bryant.

Personally, im shocked he is still on the board. He's athletic enough to play in the ZBS, but powerfull enough to play in the power scheme. Brown is scheme diverse who has the college productivity to be a first rounder, let alone a second.

DT Terrance Coty

If you want to make your first round pick look like a genius, why not pick the DT he played with in college and won a National Championship with. That would be instant chemistry with two players that fit a need, that both have winning credentials.

I like Coty a lot, and I would support the pick 100%. My only concern is whether or not Coty can stay in shape. He showed me some good signs by loosing twenty pounds before the NFL Combine, and he may have lost even more for his Pro-Day.

That shows me that he at least has some level of respectable work ethic. I just hope he can stick to it for years to come.

I know some fans want to trade for Albert Haynesworth, but picking Coty helps the team gel overall from a team chemistry point of view.
